General G-MAX RS Tread Pattern & Technical Specs
The G-MAX RS is General’s Ultra High-Performance Summer tire, created for drivers of sports sedans, contemporary muscle cars, sports cars, and sporty coupes who want strong performance in hot, wet, and dry weather. The G-MAX RS, like other summer tires, is not designed to be driven, stored, or maintained in temperatures that are close to or below freezing, through snow, or on ice.
The G-MAX RS’s directed purposeful tread design is sculpted with a high-performance summer compound. A strong on-center feel is provided by the robust center rib, which also assists with acceleration and braking. General’s SmartGrip Technology additionally contributes to the vehicle’s dynamic handling and precise steering response.
To improve cornering traction and tire durability, StabiliTread Technology generates a large contact patch with even pressure distribution. While open shoulder slots and wide, angled notches in the intermediate ribs help produce biting edges for grip in slick situations, the deep circumferential grooves help drain water away from the notches and prevent hydroplaning.
The G-MAX RS’s internal construction features a single-ply polyester casing. A two-ply sidewall is produced by the high-turnup casing, which further increases steering response. Two belts are made of high-strength steel with two-ply polyamide reinforcing to improve handling and enable high-speed performance.
The replacement tire monitor is incorporated into the central rib of G-MAX RS tires, which use General’s SmartMonitor Technology. The Replacement Tire Monitor changes to “Replace Tire” to notify the driver that the tire has reached the wear bars when it has 2/32″ of tread depth left.
Be aware that using Ultra High-Performance Summer tires in cold weather can cause permanent compound breaking due to the specialist rubber compounds’ flexing. Compound cracking is not an issue that is covered by a warranty because it is a result of incorrect use or storage, however, tires that have compound cracking need to be replaced.
If tires were used or stored when the temperature was 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C) or lower, they have to be returned to 40 degrees F (5 degrees C) for at least 24 hours before they may deform or their air pressure changes. To prevent this issue it is recommended to place them on wheels or use any support for them.
Are General G-MAX RS directional?
This tire, which has a sleek, directional tread pattern with a solid center rib and broad shoulder blocks, was designed for excellent traction on dry and wet surfaces. This ensures maximum grip in hard braking and acceleration.
How long do general G-MAX AS tires last?
The G-MAX AS-05 comes with a 50,000-mile treadwear guarantee. It’ll be a long time before you have to replace them if you listen to all those wise tire condition warnings, and follow correct rotation and alignment instructions.
Wet performance
The General G-MAX RS is a high-performance tire that offers excellent wet weather traction and braking. These tires have a special tread pattern that helps them grip the road and resist hydroplaning. With an excellent wet weather performance, the General G-MAX RS is a great choice for those who want to stay safe on the road despite the heavy rain.
Dry performance
The General G-MAX RS is a great choice for anyone looking for excellent dry traction and handling. These tires provide a confident grip on dry roads and are especially responsive in steering and corners. You can feel good knowing that your car will handle well no matter the conditions with the G-MAX RS.
Comfort performance
The General G-MAX RS is a good choice for those who are looking for a smooth, comfortable ride. The tire is quiet and the noise is unnoticeable, making it a decent choice for those drivers, who want to enjoy a peaceful ride.
Ice & Snow performance
The General G-MAX RS is a pure summer tire that was developed to meet dry and wet weather conditions. It means that General G-MAX RS is not intended to be used or stored in any freezing temperatures or to be applied on snowy and icy roads.
Summary
If you’re looking for a tire that will provide excellent all-around performance in both wet and dry conditions, the General G-MAX RS is a great option. Its tread life is also good, making it a nice choice if you’re looking for a set of tires that will last you for a long period. However, it should be noted that the G-MAX RS is not intended for winter use. Overall, the General G-MAX RS is a great summer tire with decent features.
