Continental TrueContact Tour Tread Pattern & Technical Specs
For drivers of family sedans, coupes, minivans, and small crossovers seeking maximum traction, a comfortable, pleasant ride, and prolonged tread life, Continental designed the TrueContact Tour tire.
With precise handling and secure grip in dry, rainy, and wintry conditions, including light snow, TrueContact Tour tires mix superior levels of comfort and noise level.
The TrueContact Tour’s all-season tread composition includes temperature-activated functional polymers that increase tread life and fuel efficiency, and the symmetric pattern makes it simple to rotate the tires at regular intervals to prevent uneven wear. To separate the tread from the casing and lessen the amount of audible vibration within the cabin, Comfort Ride Technology integrates an underlay beneath the tread.
In addition to the large circumferential grooves allowing water to flow across the contact patch for increased hydroplaning resistance, Continental’s +Silane additives boost grip in slick conditions. The biting edges required for grip in snowy or icy conditions are created by siped intermediate tread blocks and lateral slots in the shoulders, and traction grooves trap snow in the tread to give snow-to-snow traction.
The TrueContact Tour’s internal structure is made of a single-ply polyester casing. The two steel belts are strengthened by a high-strength, spirally wound nylon overlay to increase durability and high-speed stability, and the low- to mid-apex optimizes handling performance with ride comfort.
Wet performance
The Continental TrueContact Tour is a great tire for rainy weather. They have excellent traction and handling in the wet, although they may slip a little during corners, but remain stable on the wet surface. The hydroplaning resistance of the TrueContact is high, so deep puddles on the road tire preserves grip. Overall, Continental TrueContact Tour is a great choice for anyone looking for a good wet weather tire.
Dry performance
The Continental TrueContact Tour is a high-performance tire that offers good handling in dry weather, excellent dry traction, and good steering response. This tire is always well planted and stable in corners, making it a great choice for those drivers, who want to enjoy driving in the dry. Overall, the Continental TrueContact Tour has excellent dry weather performance.
Comfort performance
The Continental TrueContact Tour is a great tire for those who are looking for a smooth and comfortable ride. These tires perform well and provide good stability and handling. They also ride quietly with minimal road noise. Overall, if you need a winter tire that will provide you with excellent ride quality and comfort, the Continental TrueContact Tour is worth your attention.
Winter & snow performance
The Continental TrueContact Tour is a good choice for snow and ice performance. The tire provides a confident grip on light snow and ice and performs decently in moderate snow. However, on deep snow, the tire may lack traction and spin a bit. Overall, the Continental TrueContact Tour is a nice choice for those looking for a tire with good light snow and ice traction.
Summary
The Continental TrueContact Tour is a high-quality tire that offers excellent tread life, wet and dry traction, and a comfortable ride. However, its winter performance could be better, as it lacks deep snow and ice traction. Overall, the Continental TrueContact Tour is a great choice for anyone looking for a reliable and long-lasting tire.
