Tread Pattern & Technical Specs

For drivers of high-end sports vehicles, sports coupes, and high-performance sedans, Yokohama designed the ADVAN Sport, their Max Performance Summer tire. Improved comfort at high speeds, durability, and traction in both dry and wet circumstances are all features of the ADVAN Sport. The ADVAN Sport is not designed to be driven in below-freezing weather, through snow, or on ice, like all summer tires.

The silica blend tread composition on the ADVAN Sport was created to offer traction that is less sensitive to outside conditions.

The tire’s sidewalls are adjusted to prevent lateral deflection and deliver predictable handling, and its internal architecture includes two wide steel belts strengthened by spirally wound nylon cap plies.

Yokohama ADVAN Sport Tread Pattern

To balance handling with ride and noise comfort, the compound is molded into an asymmetric tread pattern with five main ribs and a large, outboard shoulder zone. Water is pushed through the footprint by four large circumferential grooves, preventing hydroplaning.

The tire’s sidewalls are optimized to prevent lateral deflection and ensure predictable handling, and its internal construction includes two wide steel belts strengthened by spirally wound nylon cap plies.

However, after 16.000 miles, one has to be careful with the rain and hydroplaning. The turn-in could be more responsive, but overall the tire provides good traction in wet weather.
