Pirelli Winter Sottozero Serie II Tread Pattern & Technical Specs

The Winter Sottozero Serie II is the second-gen of Pirelli’s Sottozero Performance Winter / Snow tires, which were created for drivers of high-end, high-performance cars drivers who meet extreme winter driving conditions. The Winter Sottozero Serie II was created with the idea that winter and snow tires shouldn’t only be used in the snowbelt states, but also in a variety of uncertain weather situations.

Winter Sottozero Serie II tires are intended to provide traction and handling in cold, dry, wet, and wintry conditions. They are not only designed as winter/snow tires but as seasonal tires appropriate for the weather and road conditions typically experienced in parts of the United States between November and April.

The tread composition of Winter Sottozero Serie II tires uses new polymers and mixing techniques, making them more environmentally friendly because they don’t include aromatic oils. With its Temperature Dynamic Compound technology, Pirelli improves traction on wet and snowy surfaces during the winter’s subfreezing temperatures.

Pirelli Winter Sottozero Serie II Tread Pattern

The tread blocks have Pirelli’s Interactive Brickwork Siping, which consists of sipes that interlock to form a brickwork pattern that improves lateral and longitudinal stability and adds extra biting edges for better grip in the snow. Twin steel belts strengthened by spirally wrapped polyamide are found inside the tire’s internal structure, which enhances thermal stability and makes the tires less susceptible to changes in temperature in the air and on the road.

The three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) logo and severe snow service standards are both present on Winter Sottozero Serie II winter and snow tires.

It is highly recommended to use Winter Sottozero Serie II tires on your vehicle in a set of four only.

Pirelli Winter Sottozero Serie II outperforms 96% of tires in the Performance Winter / Snow category.
