Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2 Tread Pattern & Technical Specs
Bridgestone’s Light Truck/SUV Studless Ice & Snow winter tire, the Blizzak DM-V2, is designed for drivers of pickup, crossover, and sport utility vehicles who want to have solid traction in slush, snow, and on ice. The Blizzak DM-V2 delivers winter driving proficiency because it was built with an emphasis on ice grip and braking, along with wet road handling and hydroplaning resistance.
Bridgestone’s adaptable NanoPro Tech Multicell formula, which includes a water-loving hydrophilic covering and small biting granules, is used in Blizzak DM-V2 tires. While the biting particles increase traction and enhance braking on glare ice, the Multicell material keeps its flexibility in below-freezing temperatures and absorbs moisture from packed snow and ice.
Broad lateral and circumferential grooves assist drain water, slush, and snow away from the contact patch for increased traction, and 3D curving sipes boost the number of snow-biting edges. This substance is sculpted into a directional tread design with 15% more aggressive block edges (than the Blizzak DM-V1 it replaces).
The Blizzak DM-V2 radial is marked with the three-peak mountain snowflake mark (3PMSF) and complies with the industry’s strict snow service standards.
Important: The NanoPro Tech Multicell Compound is used in the first 55% of the tread depth of the Blizzak DM-V2, and a conventional winter tire compound is used in the remaining 45%. A depth marker incorporated into the tread design of the Blizzak DM-V2 alerts the driver when the tire is around 50% worn that the remaining tread is nearing the end of its functional snow grip.
It is highly recommended to use Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2 only in sets of four to provide the maximum handling characteristics and overall tire performance.
Wet performance
The Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2 is a great tire for wet conditions. It has excellent grip and stability on wet roads, making it great for driving in heavy rain. The tire also doesn’t hydroplane even after hitting a deep puddle, ensuring a safe and secure ride. Overall, the Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2 has great wet traction performance.
Dry performance
The Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2 is a great all-around tire that performs great in dry weather conditions. The cornering may feel a little less sharp in comparison to high-speed tires, but it is quite enough for passing corners at high speeds. The steering response is very good. Overall, the Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2 is a great choice for anyone looking for a versatile and reliable tire.
Comfort performance
The Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2 provides a smooth and comfortable ride on highways and great handling on rural roads. The road noise is minimal for a winter tire, so the driver and passengers won’t sacrifice their comfort. Overall, the Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2 is an ideal choice for those who are looking for a winter tire that will provide excellent comfort and ride quality.
Winter & Snow performance
Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2 tires are designed for excellent snow and ice performance. They have deep treads that help to grip the road in slippery conditions, making them ideal for driving in winter weather. These tires perform well in all types of snow, including heavy snow, wet slushy snow, and deep powdery snow. They also have excellent traction on ice-covered roads. If you’re looking for tires that will keep you safe and sure-footed all winter long, Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2 tires are an excellent choice.
Summary
The Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2 is a great winter tire that offers excellent traction and grip in all types of winter conditions. It also performs well in wet and dry weather conditions and provides a smooth and comfortable ride. The only downside of the tire is that it doesn’t corner as well as high-speed tires in dry conditions. However, overall, the Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2 is a great option for anyone looking for a reliable and versatile winter tire.
